The Arctic Economic Council is an independent organization that facilitates Arctic business-to-business activities and responsible economic development. They have the last few days held their general assembly in Tromsø, as well as visiting local businesses.

We therefore invited the delegation to our offices, were we hosted a lunch seminar with Arctic tapas from Søstrene Ingebrigtsen. The lunch seminar presented all the aspects of succesful Arctic living, in terms of business development, career opportunities, future recruitment and the importance of a vibrant society for the young to grow up in.

Marlen Lauritsen from Dfind presented their latest study on employer brand research report. 

Dfind is a consultant- and advisor company. Their services consists of recruitment and hiring and assist with organisational development and employer branding.

The concept of «Hygge»was defined as one of the most important factors for employee satisfaction, where job security was deeemed the less important. Younger employees find companies that share their values as a deal-breaker for staying with the organization.

Sebastian Henriksen have despite his young age, been many years active in politics and sports. As well as a local politician for the Conservative party, he is also a member of the Norwegian and Paralympic Committee. A touching presentation about the importance of a thriving society for the young, filled with activities of leisure, culture and sports. He suggests we should «forget about the American dream, let’s talk about the Arctic dream».

During the break for refreshments, Knut-Eirik Dybdahl presented the 10 years of the bicycle race of Arctic Race of Norway. The race have generated over 380 Million NOK of marketing value for Northern Norway since its beginning in 2013. The plan for the next ten years see a possible expansion into our Nordic neighbours, creating a unique display of the Arctic life and nature broadcasted to over 180 countries.

There were also presentations from our cooperating partners in the cluster network of energi i Nord, Sparebank 1 Nord-Norge, Testnor and Akvaplan-Niva.
