An Arctic Frontiers side-event hosted by ProTromsø

ProTromsø hosted this week a side-event during the Arctic Frontiers conference in Tromsø 1st of February.
After February 24th 2022, we face a new situation in the Arctic without the infrastructure for interregional cooperation that we used to have through the Barents cooperation. However, the Nordics have a common history, shared values, and face some of the same challenges and opportunities. One of the most important factors to secure our respective national interests in the Arctic is to make sure we have resilient societies characterized by economic growth and social sustainability.
How can northern communities in Norway, Finland, and Sweden work together to strengthen our north-ern societies?
What can cities like Tromsø, Oulu and Luleå achieve through common efforts?
How can we learn from each other in building competence, businesses, strong communities that manage to hold on to young people?
Can we build on some of the infrastructure from the Barents cooperation?

You can watch the discussion from the side-event recorded live, available through this link: Development, demography and democracy. Nordic unity in a new Arctic order.

We would like to thank our speakers and contributors, who we look forward to work with in the future in order to strenghten the Nordic bond.
