Who are ProTromsø?
ProTromsø has been established to improve the competitiveness of Tromsø and Northern Norway nationally as well as internationally. The company will collaborate with local, regional, national and international partners to strengthen the conditions for business and industry in Tromsø and Northern Norway. Keywords for job and value creation in the municipality are sustainable investments, knowledge and innovation as well as green industry and technology.

ProTromsø will contribute to increasing knowledge about Tromsø and its many opportunities, both nationally and internationally,establish a clear understanding of why it’s attractive to set up businesses in Tromsø,contribute to models for establishing businesses (“start-up package” for new businesses), work proactively with investors and companies and work strategically to follow up political decisions that open for governmental offices to be set up leading to the creation of new jobs.
ProTromsø will maintain active dialogue with business and industry about their development needs, share success stories, put sustainable growth and development on the agenda, be proactive in national processes that affect Tromsø, contribute to meeting places for clusters and business networks and and connect partners, and work to promote circular solutions between different industries and actors.

Share the good stories to attract investors, businesses, competence and labour, contribute to Tromsø being perceived as an open and inclusive city with a focus on good regional and national networks and international cooperation, seek European cooperation in areas that are in our interest through enhanced collaboration with the representative office of Northern Norway in Brussels.
Be visible at key arenas to profile Tromsø’s advantages, develop and maintain networks and contacts, create information and communication strategies to promote knowledge about Tromsø as a business-friendly city and as a test region for new ideas.
Promote Tromsø as a dedicated host for new initiatives in the north, and be a constructive conversation partner for key decision-makers about the development in the north.

ProTromsø will succeed in getting the environments in Tromsø to move in the same direction and agree on some joint initiatives, contribute to Tromsø having a vision that is as commonly agreed as possible as well as common storytelling that answers the question ‘Why Tromsø?’
Aim to have an interdisciplinary approach where politicians, business and industry and the knowledge sector think together,
collaborate broadly with relevant local actors and, if possible, use arenas and suppliers from the north.
